Here are some tips on how you can tell if a good diet is failing you:

1. Your Diet Thinks Fasting is Fine

If you are looking to go on a diet that promises you rapid weight loss by literally starving your body, it’s best to start looking in another direction.

Our bodies weren’t meant to starve, which is why food is an imminent part of our healthy survival. Why would anyone think that depriving your body of complete nourishment is healthy? The answer: desperation is a powerful force.

Fasting will help you lose weight, but not the type of weight you might typically expect. On the contrary, instead of losing excess body fat, you actually end up losing water weight and valuable cellular and muscle tissues.

All in all, any type of diet that promotes fasting or starvation is not a good diet at all.

2. The “One Meal a Day with Supplements” Approach


These diets aren’t quite as bad as fasting diets, but the results will only be temporary, and you will be, essentially, unhealthy.

You can’t get the adequate nutrition you need by eating just one meal a day. This type of motto for losing weight will not only NOT last for the long haul, but you will be stuck feeling exhausted and depleted of energy.

3. You Can Eat Whatever, as Long as You Exercise

Exercise is important for living a healthy lifestyle, but alone, it’s not a good diet plan if you are trying to lose weight.

Even if you are hitting the gym at least five days out of the week, it doesn’t mean you are going to lose weight. Your metabolism requires the right balance of nutrients to burn excess body fat, and exercise alone won’t do it.

The best way to incorporate exercise into your diet? Make you eat at least three protein-packed meals a day, with a healthy balance of complex carbs, and healthy fats.

This will give your metabolism the boost it needs to burn excess body fat, and will give you the needed energy to get fit at the gym.
